Four-Star Bike Tour is a celebration of healthy, sustainable transportation. To prolong this great experience, we encourage you to leave the car at home. Instead of driving, please consider biking, using public transit or carpooling to reach the event.
If you need some advice on getting around car-free, check out the Regional Transportation Authority’s web-based Goroo trip planner. The trip planner allows you to plan trips in the Chicago region using public transit trains and buses (CTA, Metra, and Pace). It also gives driving, biking and walking directions.
The start, finish and festival area will be at Morgan and Taylor streets on the UIC campus in Chicago’s West Loop.
There are plenty of good biking options to get to the Four-Star Bike Tour. Halsted, Racine, Taylor, Blue Island, Ogden and Roosevelt all are suitable for biking. You can look at the City of Chicago’s Bicycle Map here and find a route for you.

The Four-Star Bike Tour start/finish area is a half-mile south of the UIC-Halsted Blue Line stop. See Google maps for more detail.
Each bus carries two bicycles, and these bus routes go near the start/finish:

Riding in from the suburbs? Metra allows bicycles on all weekend trains. Most downtown stations are under two miles from Four-Star's starting point at Morgan and Taylor.
From Union Station:
Exit on the southwest side of the station, and head south on Clinton (.6 miles) to Taylor. Take a right on Taylor (west), keeping right, and ride .5 miles to Morgan.
From Ogilvie Transportaton Center:
Exit on the southwest side of the station, and head one block west on Madison to Clinton. Take a left, and head .8 miles south on Clinton to Taylor. Take a right (west) on Taylor, and ride .5 miles to Morgan.
From Lasalle Street Station:
Ride west on Van Buren (.5 miles) to Clinton. Take a left (south) on Clinton (.5 miles) to Taylor. Take a right on Taylor, and ride .5 miles west to Morgan.
From Museum Campus/11th Street (Metra Electric):
Head southeast out of the station. Ride west on Roosevelt (1.6 miles) to Morgan. Turn right on Morgan and head .2 miles north to Taylor.
Car-parking is available at the UIC Halsted Street Parking Structure at Halsted and Taylor streets. Four-Star Bike Tour participants pay $6/car. Please note that you must inform the pay station attendant that you are a Four-Star Bike Tour participant in order to receive the discount.
Be aware of parking garage heights if you stow your bike on the roof of your car. Overhead clearance is 6’7”.
